Apolo Finishes 9th Overall at World Short Track Championships
Apolo Ohno finished ninth-place overall at the World Short Track Speed Skating Championships on Sunday in a competition marred by injuries and disqualifications. Click for more details.
Apolo's World Short Track Championships Race Results
1000m: Disqualified in the semifinals and finished 8th. More details.
500m: Eliminated in the quarterfinals and finished 9th. More details.
1500m: Disqualified in his semifinal race and finished 17th. More details.
3000m relay: Team USA qualified for semifinals but did not skate due to Rusty Smith's injury.

"Rusty Smith got an injury while skating in the World Championships in Sweden. His nose was cut by the blade of another skater who slipped on the ice. He had some surgery while he was out there, and he should be on his way home right now.
I just thought it would be nice for him to get home and see some well-wishes from fans and friends, to let him know we're all thinking about him. It'll give him something to do while he's recovering!

Rusty Smith Injured
